We do a variety of arched casings and jambs for customer homes. There are four basic jambs & casings used in home construction…An oval or circle, a half circle, an ellipse or an eyebrow.
We start the lay out in our cad program be entering the chord length and the rise for the particular arch.
Once we have the correct parameters for the arch, we take a cross section of the molding profile, create a flat relief, give the profile a path to follow and extrude the profile across our relief. This may seem a little confusing; however, the software cad program developed by EnRoute makes things easy.
Now we apply the tool paths for machining and output the files to our MultiCam router.
The finished arches are off to the home for installation!!!
