We were asked to create a medallion with a Fleur de Lis in the center to enhance the area above a cook top appliance. The medallion will have a circumference of 14” and a thickness of ¾”. We enhanced the piece with a leaf design encircling the perimeter.
The following Cad files are the renderings of the medallion. We recessed the center section ¼” and merged a beveled Fleur de lis that protrudes out ½”.
We used a ¼” ball nose bit to mill the recessed area, a 90 degree v-groove bit to engrave the leaves and give definition to the inner circle.
The finished medallion will definitely create a focal point in the customer’s kitchen!
