A customer has requested we make 7 old style wooden windows. The windows will be used in the historic district and will be designed to match existing windows in that area.
The windows measure 36” in width, 60” in height and have a jamb with of 5 ¼”.
The wood we used for this project is Spanish cedar…the stability of the wood, resistance to water & insects are ideal for this exterior application.
The jambs are constructed from 1 ¼” material, the windows from 1 ½” material and the track system from ½” x ½” stock.
The construction of theses windows was relatively simple. We used mortise & tenon joinery coupled with waterproof glue for assembly.
The finished windows are a perfect match for the historic district and will provide years of reliable service.
